Yeah you heard. The two British icons have locked horns recently after controversial comments were made by Phil against Paul. However, according to the NME, the feud has taken a twist as Paul has tried to mend broken bridges with Phil to no avail. Instead, the opposite ended up happening; Phil took another dig at Paul’s ‘bad attitude’.
“He has this thing when he’s talking to you, where he makes you feel like, ‘I know this must be hard for you because I’m a Beatle. I’m Paul McCartney and it must be very hard for you to actually be holding a conversation with me’”, is how Phil described his encounters with the legendary Wings front man. This comment is what set everything off between the two figureheads and it hasn’t lightened up since.
In an interview with Billboard, he then commented on the matter once again, “He’s been in touch about it because he was upset,” said Collins. “I certainly didn’t get any flowers from him; I got more of a ‘Let’s just get on with our lives.’ And I’m sorry he’s upset that I kinda said something nasty about him — well, it wasn’t really nasty. If people don’t tell people that sometimes their attitude could be a bit better then you’re not gonna get any better, y’know?”
Where this will go, I have no idea. I have a feeling that this will be the last article on the matter. Neither of these guys are dumb enough to start a rivalry with one and other, because it’s hardly beneficial in their current position. I will update you if anything else unfolds, but don’t hold your breath.
