Track of the Week: Nov 05 – Nov 12

Another week and another awards ceremony! Now this week has been a mighty strange one, in fact, November as a whole has been very difficult to judge. For every great track we are given, we get a terrible one in return. My average rating for this week has levelled out at four which doesn’t really do the week that much justice. If it hadn’t been for some horrific attempts towards the tail end of this week, things perhaps would of looked a little brighter. Oh well, shall we see how this week went?

Track of the Week:

Black America Again – Common ft. Stevie Wonder

Honourable Mentions:

Give – You Me At Six

Breathing Underwater – Emeli Sande

Apeirophobia – Animals As Leaders

Me and Your Mama – Childish Gambino

Independent Track of the Week:

Time Lord – The Brinks

Worst Track of the Week:

Trump – A$AP TyY

Honourable Mentions:

Hands Free – Keke Palmer

When I Get Back – The Neighbourhood ft. G-Eazy

Zara Larsson – I Would Like

Setting Fires – The Chainsmokers ft. XYLØ

Campaign – Ty Dolla $ign ft. Future

By Your Side – Jonas Blue ft. Raye

What a strange week right? Even though I didn’t like the new Animals As Leaders record, they still managed to sneak a track in there so bravo to them. But the big winners here are Common and Stevie Wonder for an absolute masterpiece of a modern rap track. It still abides by our rules for track of the week and it’s deserving of it’s place.

Before we sign off, we’d yet again like to reiterate our thanks towards Leonard Cohen for his services towards music. In a week full of turmoil and controversy, this has hit us the hardest and we shall be remembering him and thanking for him for all he’s done for music. To you sir we owe an awful lot. Thank you.
