Music News: Clinton, DeLonge, UFO’s… What?

Yeah… So whilst reading the NME listings today, I came across an article in reference to the subject as listed above… I’m still kind of speechless about it, but it’s worth a talk nonetheless.

It was reported, that last year the Angels & Airwaves front-man stated that he was doing “really important work”, regarding information to do with UFO’s and Area 51. The infamous leaked emails from the Hillary Clinton US election campaign have shown Tom exchanging in messages about the topic. Where it gets even stranger, as written in The Wall Street Journal, is how John Pedasta (Clinton campaign chairman) also exchanged emails with Tom regarding mutual interest in Area 51 and UFO’s.

The big WikiLeaks reveal that happened over the last week or so, detailed newly acquired emails that show Tom offering to introduce Podesta to ‘two important individuals’. One email read, “I think you will find them very interesting, as they were principal leadership relating to our sensitive topic. Both were in charge of most fragile divisions, as it relates to Classified Science and DOD topics. Other words, these are A-Level officials. Worth our time, and as well the investment to bring all the way out to you”. How weird is that?!

Now it’s common knowledge to any Blink 182 fan, that Tom DeLonge is obsessed with all things sci-fi. But the extent of his obsession is only being revealed as we talk now… When asked whether he quit Blink 182 to further investigate UFO’s he stated, “Quitting the band to search for UFOs? Hahhaha WTF is wrong with you media… I’m actually talking to Travis about us right now… Never did quit, remember”.

Now this statement is innocent enough, until you read what he further went on to claim, “But – Am I currently working with people in the Government? YES. Including leadership from DOD, Intelligence and Executive Branch? YES. Just wait for the documentary before considering ridiculous headlines”. That’s the scary part…

Who knows what all this means, probably not a lot, but can you imagine the pop punk pioneer being so involved in the interstellar sections of the Government? Indeed frightening stuff…
